Cooper Office Phone 2002

Created as a concept design to demonstrate Cooper‘s capabilities, we demonstrated ideas that were way ahead of their time, such as visual voicemail, and easy handling of conference calls.

Note: in 2002, there were no capacitive touchscreens, only resistive touchscreens that required a firm press, most touchscreens demanded that you use a stylus, and forget dragging with your finger. Therefore, the hardware design had hardware keys and jog wheels.

Remember, at the time there was only the Palm Treo in 2002, and the iPhone was introduced five years later, in 2007.

Even 10 years later, office phones are still a pain to use.
